Digestive problems are reported in 26% cases at 12 weeks after SARS-CoV-2 infection. These can take the form of abdominal pain, cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation or a loss of appetite.
How do we test for it ?
A clinical assessment will be conducted to decide on the tests needed for your digestive problems. For example, a stool test may be recommended for diarrhoea, and different diets or probiotics may be advised to address pain, diarrhoea, constipation and other issues.
If you have also lost weight, additional tests will be needed. They can be carried out by your paediatrician or primary care physician.
