Nasal congestion (stuffy nose), rhinitis or rhinorrhoea (runny nose) occurs in 2–12% of cases 4 to 6 months after infection. In case of nose congestion, scabs can form on the mucosa and result in nose bleeds.
How is it treated ?
Daily nasal irrigation with saline solution can help. If symptoms persist, your doctor will determine whether a nasal spray is needed. It is rarely necessary to consult an ear, nose and throat specialist.
