Fewer than 0.5% of people with long COVID have fever at 7 to 9 months after infection and <0.01% at 12 months. In general, this symptom does not last, although some people report an intermittent low-grade fever (with a temperature of around 37.5°C during post-COVID relapses). Others have reported higher temperatures, but a direct link to SARS-CoV-2 has not yet been established. Anyone with a new fever should be tested to see if he or she has a new infection (either SARS-CoV-2 or another infection, depending on the symptoms accompanying the fever).
